American Flyer (1976)

Something of a Super Group here, including in their ranks Steve Katz (Blood Sweat & Tears), Craig Fuller (Pure Prairie League), Eric Kaz and Doug Yule (Velvet Underground). The album was also produced by George Martin, who had found fame with some Liverpool band back in the Sixties. You also have Larry Carlton and Joe Sample (The Crusaders) guesting on the LP. A stellar line-up and no mistake.

Musically the music is akin to The Eagles or any of the country-lite bands around at the time, but rest assured though the songs are all great. They did go onto produce a second album called ‘Spirit of a Woman’ that’s also well worth your attention.

Hi PD, this is looking great and a fantastic addition to all us west coast guys that keep plugging away at keeping this great music out there and fresh.

I nearly bought this today at a Record Fair, but decided to leave it as I picked up the Eric Kaz ‘Cul-De-Sac’ album and forgot to go back for it. Win some, lose some!
