Johnny Mathis: A Special Part Of Me (1984)

Who would have thought that Johnny Mathis, of all people, could produce such a westcoast masterpiece as this. However, if you like it smooth, then this is the album for you. Musically, it’s funky soulful easy listening, which creates a distinct Jarreau vibe. I don’t know if that was intentional or not.

There are great duets with Deniece Williams and Angela Bofill, but the the pick of the bunch for me is “The Best Is Yet To Come”.
